    DANCERS

    I.

    Looking into the emptiness

    thinking about fairy tales

    and the past that lingers

    still in my mind.

    Quotations in a yearbook

    Declarations of love

    From times when things

    Were just that simple.

    II.

    I am

    Young still

    As before

    But different.

    III.

    Once upon a time

    She was many

    And more than memory.

    The dancers held

    Their hands out

    For me to take.

    IV.

    It was simple when

    All she said was

    “Thanks for the dance,”

    and that was all

    I needed and got.

How true! Life is much more complicated as we grow and develop wisdom, and responsbility. Sucks being a grown up, huh? Liked it,different format than ia used to seeing. Good religious piece. Write on....

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
