Poem Commentary

"Come join me, Come join me, come take a part and join me," said Dan Brown as the trumpet played rat-tat a-tat.

Looking Glass Lies

Hidden behind our God
So Lucifer taunts and laughs
Trusting in myth maker's magic
Your church flourishes in Mammon
Your flock will scatter in tragic

Capes and velvet crowns
Washed and bathed in fig leaves
Where is the cross?
You have abandonded the Holy One
No Clues, no path, an unaware loss

A priesthood based on false prophets
And even the wearing of holy underwear!
You have deserted the Gospel
Treading on true believers
Your stench rises in our nostrils

In your church the evil one dwells
Your temple is built on lies and deceit
Tied, roped, and gaged bound for hell
Zion spewed you from her mouth
Yet door to door you Satan sell

Masks and secret ceremonies
Baubles, a rabbit's foot, and Seer Stones
Moral Standards and family values you claim
A part of a phony fortress grand
In reality, God curses your name

The poet aptly brings out the atrocities committed by the Satan and m Mammon in religious circles and he feels sorry for the clueless world and horrid situation prevailing around us.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
