    Hello, fellow trapdoor spider -- Jodie Foster

    The Quiet Room

     living there for unplanned time
    when I had the "power"
    they took "it" away slowly
    my strength did not allow floggings.

    I was kept in their darkness
    feeling my way around
    using light from the crack
    under the bolted door on the ground.

    I kiss their ears with whispers
    pleading for the release
    "May I have the keys I ask?"
    "not yet, she still has the disease."

    a sigh of relief
    as one of them jingles the bells
    which open the escape hatch
    My Life in their closet
