Lost Love

Lost Love

Although the writing has all faded
And the cover is all torn
My hart remembers the sweet echoes
Of our love as it was born.

 So easily I still recall
First glance, first kiss stage by stage
I hold the book within my hand
Not needing to turn a single page.

It’s not the only reminder of you
But it’s the only thing I’ve got
In this book we’re still together
And to me honey it means a lot.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
