Love Affair

Don’t call me. I’m not here.
I was just a shadow that silhouetted through
Your dreams on a foggy autumn night.
I needed someone and you were there.
I needed warmth-And you embraced me-
Making me believe that
Summer was still here- Not just another night
Of lust ending in the early hours of the morning-
With a sweet smile & see you soon.
Knowing that see you soon will never come again.
Your eyes portrayed a story of happiness
And love for life.
I was greedy, I wanted to feel it again.
It’s been such a long time.
I had forgotten the innocence of loving someone.
So don’t call me.
Just think of that evening
As a love affair on a warm summers night.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
