Love's Twillight

    Love's Twillight

    Half Light
    Half Dark
    The Love gone
    Over a regretted remark

    A remark made
    In much haste
    At a time when
    Silence was chaste

    I was watching the sun
    Sinking below the horizon
    As my heart sinks
    Beyond a different horizon

    A door was slammed
    And my heart was damned
    As the bar was thrown
On the door that was slammed

    Keeping me from
    Apologizing to you
    For a remark
    I regret making to you

    For our love to end
    This very way
    Ending like the sun
    Setting on the day
