My Wish

My Wish

While gazing up at starlit sky
and pondering my existance
I saw a streak of light fly by
way off in the distance

In haste I tried a wish to make
but I was overwhelmed by anguished cries
of the infinate dreams which we forsake
for wishes decorating the night skies

Through nothing less than an epiphany
I realize my mistake it seems
I'll retrieve that wish and be set free
to realize my dreams.
