Never Mind

Never Mind

I want to approach you badly,
because of your backstabbing.
I often wonder
how can I joke with you?
So as you're back laughing;
I think how is this
going to happen -
me grabbing you to the side?
My faculty's are furious.
"No, just let it ride",
is what is said.
Am I hearing right?
Am I sick in the head?
I got to give them
a piece of my mind.
I got to get rid of dread,
even to be around them.
This may end their streak
of talking about everyone, Father, -
not just me.
But I'm unable to move,
and all I do is smile.
I say, "I had something
to tell you...
but, never mind.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
