No More Room

Poem Commentary

This poem was written by myself in memory of my beautiful mother whose life was so amazing... my siblings stood by her side day over night watching her life fade into God's hands... I just wanted to share with you less than a fraction of the loss we feel in her departure... I hope you enjoy the reading as much as I enjoyed being able to write this small dedication to my mother 04/10/2009

No More Room

Even without a pulse, i still see your eyes
it couldn't ease the pain of knowing
this was the plot for your demise
Tears of sorrow can't replace
the space of life where you left a trace
of smiles upon our face
The most beautiful flower is that
which has changed its color after full bloom
as death consummates its life when
there is no more room
There is no room for you to roam
city sidewalks, lounge in your favorite chair
nor heart warming talk
You've accomplished your mission
completed your chores, so rest in wait for the
opening of Heavens' door
There's no more room here to call your own
just empty space where love was shown
Our hearts continue a well lit tourch
praying one day to gather on heavens front porch
No more room as we all now see
but there's no better place that
your soul can be

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
