Self Destruct

Self Destruct

I am like ice, you see
But, it's just a cover.
Inside i am like molten lava.

I feel this aching inside of me,
that never fades.
This empty space yearns to be filled
but, i won't let it.
With every moment this void expands,
eventually it will overcome me
and i will be nothing but an empty shell.

So, you see
I am not lost.
Self destruction is my only saving grace.
Destroy myself or be destroyed by someone else
and i am to proud for the latter........

-Flames of hate create a heart as cold as ice- Yes the void never fills. It is never full. I like how you mention that you are not lost. It is like you have come to accept the demise of it all. You know where you are headed. Self destruction. I like where this poem is going, but for me it ended a bit too soon. I was interested in learning its underlying cause. What exactly drove it. Of course, for most of us that complication could span pages and pages hahahha. Well expressed reguardless though.

Poetry is what is lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
