    September 11th

Today the terrorist attacked, we don't know whom to blame,
All we know is lives were lost, and our world will not be the same
The tragedy has brought us close, we'll show them we are strong,
Our country now will show them how, we can have peace and get along
The people who have done this, will be brought down to their knees,
I hope they do not see us weak, as our country now does grieve
We keep our heads held high with pride as our hearts so openly weep,
This tragedy will take it's toll, as its burnt in our minds so deep
They say that this is called a war but what I do not understand,
How can we fight these terrorist when they aren't considered men
They hide their heads as cowards, why not just show their face,
They are not proud like Americans, and to us they are a disgrace
So come on all you Afghanistans, come out from in your caves,
Its time to face the music, from America the Brave.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
