Sweetly, Bitterly

Sweetly, Bitterly

Sweetly, bitterly, I beseach...
Let us twain our souls impeach,
That life's sandy shore we reach
To walk hand in hand upon it's beach.

Sweetly, bitterly, I do plead...
Let us twain now sow a seed,
In fertile garden do till and weed
And sprouting child in love do feed.

Sweetly, bitterly, I implore...
Let us twain our hearts explore,
That ne'er we face a slamming door
Until in life death takes us o'er.

Sweetly, bitterly, I contend...
Let us twain our love defend,
That of our lives it may be penned
"Lifetime lovers, forever friends"
.

what a wonderful, compassionate and yearning write....I can't really imagine anymore what it would be like to be married to a reasonable person...you are both blessed. 10

Great write is all I can say, not redundancy intended. Love is sweet/bitter and you said it in a fresh way.

Okay, this is beautiful, but the LAST LINE gave me goosebumps!! Seriously!! How lovely, poetic...like wedding vows. You put it all there from the beginning of love until the sweet-bitter end. Bravo!! 10

This is a powerful, yet gentle plea for cooperation in realizing the full potential of a life defining relationship. It's absolutely luminous. RHPeat, you have obviously put a lot of deep thought into your methodical analysis, but poetry is the offspring of the soul; you can't dissect it like a frog in a 10th grade biology class. Poetic license can't be quantified, my man. It's an unquantifiable experience. A warm breeze is for the enjoying of it; it kind of loses its appeal if you run a diagnostic on it.

Thank you so much, TammyW. There seems to be some mixed feelings about it, but it came from my heart, and I like it. I am happy that you do as well.

Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
