The Girl in my Dream

The Girl in my Dream

Is this your face that I see?

In my dreams as I sleep

Or an angel guiding me through

No wings that the eye can see

But hello halo

From the moment we spoke

Sparks flew

As your eyes revealed all my secrets

Bare I stood

Like a true word master

You comfort me with the truth

Even though it may hurt

While gently raising me up

With your tender touch

I knew it was too good to be true

But as I woke

Behold your face

And my dreams had come true

May all your dreams come true

Happy birthday to you

Girl in my dream

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
