The Spike

The Spike

Looking for the deep blue river,
then a sharp spike then a shiver.
Going down, and still down,
like forever,
I sink to the ground,
I feel better.

Can't stand to wake in the morning,
the sunlight just makes me feel sick.
Barfing is just the first warning.
till I finaly score the clock ticks.
My girl she waits at the crib,
while I go out looking for boy.
The spike is always the master,
my girl and I are just toys.

Looking for the deep blue river,
then a sharp spike then a shiver.
Going down and still down,
like forever.
I sink to the ground,
I feel better.

From what I have heard and read from other addicts, you have described heroin addiction to the t. I got so into this poem while reading it, I felt like I was the addict. That's how good your wording was. Ten from me!!!

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
