moth to a flame

    moth to a flame

    Hold to me for losing
    lest I crumble
    blow away on a breeze

Take care of me for choosing
    that when I'm dust
    I'm ground beneath your knees

Make love to me, be soothing
    so that I never forget
become lost to love, in despair

I am a moth drawn to flames
and crave to burn me back
yet I claim of fire what it kills

I am in death rocked by agony of ecstacy
so willed I cling to fire even as I'm killed
I am in life as I was in death

This passion is too sweet to bear
my life is painful so that you realize
my deaths the sweeter that you be spared

    Hold for me my choosing
    lest I tumble
    fly on a breeze

    Take from me my bruising
    love is the dust
    the ground beneath your knees

Make love of me, be soothing
    that forget I might
I'm told, find love or despair

I am a moth drawn to flames
and crave to burn me back
yet I claim of fire what it kills

I am in death, life, and birth
    rocked by agony of ecstacy
that unwilled I will be done

I am repaid by death to be released of life
this passion is too sweet to bear
it would pain me if you did not realize
True love is priceless because its rare

    Hold me to losing
    lest I grumble
my words fly away on a breeze

    Take me for my choosing
    that when I'm dust
    I'm ground beneath your knees

Make love to me, be soothing
I'm hot for love in cold despair
    lest I ever forget

I am a moth drawn to bright flames
and I crave to burn me back
I'd claim of fire what it steals

I am in death as I was in life
    rocked by agony of ecstacy
that unwilled I will be done

I am released of life to be repaid by death
this passion is too sweet to bear
    my love, impossible to resist

    Intoxicating don't forget your share
realize love is what you've missed
lest your journey not justify your fare
