These Scars are Valleys

These Scars are Valleys

These scars are valleys
In which my blood did flow
The razors that forged them
Now stained with my soul's glow

These wounds shall ever haunt me
Close to escape was I
And though I tried to stop it
Time keeps passing by

My sanguine tears continue
This heart proceeds to break
As I lay down to slumber
I pray I never wake

To leave this world behind
Is my one desire
There is no song within me
And nothing does inspire

And so I leave you freely
Without ill regret
Shall I be remembered
Or too soon will you forget

Cast my ashes out to sea
Let me drift away
And now these scars I open
I've nothing left to say
