    True Love

    The lights dim
    The music slows
    She comes to a stop
    Her gown flows

    The spotlight turns
    The faces change
    The girl on the stairs
    Looks inhumane

    The spotlight settles
    Blinding the girl
    Leaving her
    In a fantasy world

    She looks to her date
    His smile genuine
    He sees his goddess
    And smiles with pride

    She takes a breath
    Floats down the stairs
    The mass parts
    Holding its stare

    She whips around
    With skill and grace
    But it isn’t him
    It’s another face

    Her one true love
    Holds her there
    In his arms
    Holding her stare

    He leans down
    His lips brush hers
    Electricity greets
    Breathless words

    The one she loved
    With all her heart
    That walked away
    Before the start

    Is now the one
    That holds her hand
    And promises
    To be her man

    ‘Til death do they part
    The love that was dead
    Turned out to be
    Alive but suppressed

    Now they live
    Looking back at that night
    Believing strongly
    That love is a fight

    But true love
    Will prevail
    Just keep fighting
    Don’t choose to fail
