Weep No More, Magenta

  • The hand of time lays heavy on heart today...

Weep No More, Magenta

Weep no more, Magenta
do you not see your tears
are falling on hearts dead and dry
that have long since forgotten how to feel?

Weep no more, Magenta
your tears like acid burn
deep holes into my sacred space
a place no more protected by my will.

Please, weep no more, Magenta
look here into my heart
and see the helpless child I become
when nothing I can do will end your pain.

Yes, sleep now dear Magenta
I promise we'll not part
and in my arms I'll keep you safe from harm
and pray the sun brings peace to us again.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
