Where Does the Time Go?

Poem Commentary

Merry belated Christmas and Happy unbelated New Year to all! This one is a spot rhetorical, and a lot spiritual. It was inspired by these mediocre holidays, lol. "Love who loves!"

Where Does the Time Go?

Where does a leaf go atop a blue sea?
Where does a sea go in the deep starlight?
Where does a star go amid a black sea?
Where does a life go in the vast sunlight?

Three of these I just never seem to know.
One is one that visits as a theory,
One is often like a meadow I know,
And one is almost like a memory.

Where do the infinities of leaves go?
Sometimes I almost know for an instant.
Where do the universes of dreams go?
Most times they are lost, forgotten, distant.

Yet one of the four is beyond the rest -
One of the four is that heartfelt something;
One of the four is that sanctified rest -
Though all are the One and ever loving.

You sang a permanent assignment. But it is a meaningful question. And we always will enjoy it.

Thank you! Not much gets by you, I see, lol! God bless.

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
