Winter Has Arrived
The golden rays of the
afternoon sun
peek through the
slate blue clouds
in the western sky;
While the small
white flakes
create an ominous
cloud of white….
It is January 16th.
Winter has finally
arrived.
Darkness falls over
the small
rural city
and the lights
from the many merchants
try to shine
through the cloud of white
surrounding
the town….
Cars are hurrying
through the traffic
as though it were Christmas
all over again.
Chaos abounds!

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
