All or Nothing
It is kind of an obsession
Where I give everything my all
There’s projects I don't want to start
If I think that I might fall
Is it better to give nothing?
Than to be so very stressed
It seems I am not satisfied
With just my very best
When making new friends
Why try control the play
Wanting to be all or nothing
To everyone else each day
All or nothing scares people
Makes them stressed and strained
A friend needs space and options
Not smothering until drained
This all or nothing compulsion
I wouldn't want from a friend
It's okay if they are not perfect
Their friendship I recommend
So now I am learning balance
I try to flex instead of break
It's okay for me to try and fail
All or nothing is now give and take
