Sorry

Sorry

They say that sorry is the hardest word

I am sure that's what you too have heard

I also know that this simply isn't true

Showing you're sorry is even harder to do

To say sorry and then repeat the offense

Is to continue the hurt and makes no sense

Our imperfections mean sometimes we fall

Hence we need to forgive one and all

That they may overlook our own mistake

Reconciliation needs give and take

Saying sorry is just one step we make

In trying to restore the trust we break

Showing we mean it is what proves true

So say it but then make sure that you 'do'

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
