Poem Commentary

i wrote this for my ex girl friend which past away last month

Broken Wings

Broken Wings

Sitting here by your bed, staring at your wounded body laying there
Tears running down my pale face stroking your thinned out hair
Feel like weight breaking me down
Hoping your coming around

And you do, you mend my broken wings your like song like i dream to sing I wish I could do this right back to you but until then I'll be loving you
I can hear the beep of your heart monitor, giving out on you

What do i say when I'm standing at a distance what do I do?

I'm loosing control of life itself
And I can't change it by myself

But you carried my weight. You fixed my broken wings my mate I trust that you're satisfied with me but until I know for sure I'll sit right here

Flatlines, Beeps constantly
I cry but I pray faithfully
You're still gone but I still wait
Nothing happens I feel less

But I remember what you've done I remember when we had our fun And you've taught so much, How to fix, oh oh how to fix, my broken wings

So strong - so sad, so encouraging ---- your wings are uplifting and I thank you from my soulful heart for sharing.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
