Broken
I gave you my heart
you broke it into
I never understood the anger in you
day after day I tried to make you see
the light that was fading inside of me
just to see one smile
just to be embraced
nothing but a bitter smirk
sat upon your face
you crushed my spirit
and stole my dreams
ripped my world from the seams
I did everything you asked
but I always felt the power of your hand
this relationship could not last
for your anger I did not understand
I am through cowering down
I have wiped my last tear
my feet are planted on the ground
for you I no longer fear
You will no longer control me
I am taking a stand
for you do not own me
And you call yourself a Man ?
I deserve better than this
I deserve respect
I deserve to be loved and cared for
