The Journey

It seemed like prison growing up
A little girl living without love
always doing as she was told
Never knowing what the future would hold
She always dreamed of a better life
Finding a prince and becoming his wife
She was forced to grow up way to fast
Never enjoying her childhood
no fond memories of her past
So she continued to dream of
one day finding love
something she never felt or even knew of
she felt all alone and lost in this world
that for her ... was empty and blue
So she fell to her knees  and asked
" lord what should I do"
All the pain I have felt
and tears i have cried
have stained my heart, so deeply inside.
She waited and continued to pray
but there was no reply.
And at that very moment she realized
someones presence by her side
He knelt down beside her
and dried her face
as he gazed upon her with a smile
he wrapped his arms around her
and comforted her for a while
So against all odds
she held her head high
 knowing the day had come
when Love would no longer pass her by !

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
