    cycle

If the apple does not fall far from the tree
Am i destined to repeat as my father
Will i have his life and the wife
    The success and the downfall
    The disease
Is it up to me to cahnge the past and present
Or will i fill those footsteps only to be fooled again
Can i say yes when he said no
Shall i hate when he would have loved
Do i fight when we would have walked

An apple falls from the tree in hopes ob being enjoyed
In an apple pie or as a summer snack
Even to keep the doctors away
What is the fate of the apple that has not been picked
This apple has been left behind to rot
As time eats through the skin exposing the bruises not seen from the outside
As it decays in to the soil its only hope is
That it will fertilize the ever-growing tree
So that others may enjoy the fruit of its life

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
