    dinosaurs

    with claws that scratch
    and jaws that bite
    his great and mighty roar

    through time gone past
    and days long gone
    the fearsome tyrannosaur

    eighty feet tall
    with a neck of steel
    he grazes on the trees

    appatosaurus
    looks around
    and eats whatever he sees

    he spreads his wings
    and rules the sky
    the majestic pteranadon

    but now i look
    into the sky
and see that he is gone

What a nice poem by a talented 11 year old. The rhyme scheme and images were very nice.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
