    if

if i saw you in a thousand years
through blood sweat and many tears
and offered to take away your fears
    would you take my hand

if you looked into my heart of old
and saw the heat and felt the cold
but also felt the beat so bold
    would you take a stand

then showing to you all i can
to see that i too am mere man
but you my love are my greatest fan
and my soul you do command
