DIVORCE

I got married when I was 19 years old
My marriage gradually started to unfold.
I didn't understand the responsibilities of
being a wife
Yet, I had accepted marriage as a part of my life.
I know that marriage has it's ups and downs
You expect your husband to be around.
Then I had a baby that was growing inside of me
My marriage wasn't working, this I could see.
Nine months later we had a baby girl
Things were looking bleak in our world.
We decided to separate several times
The last time I had made up my mind.
I realized that our marriage wasn't going to work
My daughter would be the one that would get hurt.
I filed for a divorce and moved on with my life
Six years later I became another man's wife.
