I Smile for You

I Smile for You

Will you be there,
When I come calling?
At the end of my travels
Will I reach you,
my destination at last?

Will you allow me to sit at your feet,
and ask my questions . . .
no answers needed?
Druid God.

Will you be my teacher-
My father-
my friend?
Will you allow me;
a humble traveler;
refuge from the troubles
that so steadily walk my shadows?

Because lately
I've walked alone-
wanting the past
but only remembering.
Calling to the passerbys;
"Are you going to Scarborough Fair?"
Because there I once knew you-
Druid God.

I once wrote you lyrics;
once longed for your praise,
but now I return from
long, lonely travels.
Will you be there-
my destination at last?
Or will you leave me,
on your doorstep twice...
Praying and pleading
to my Druid God?

Once again and I read it before... Why not write more... You have a way that paints vivid pictures I saw myself knelt down at God's feet... Thanks for the raw emotion you display God made a gem with you......

and Jesus says .... I am there was ther and always will be there....... He has not left you or forsaken you ever in your life...... He loves you more then the fowl of the air..... mankind that never seems to care ....... and most of all..... He wants you to be at peace within yourself cause He wants to talk..... red

Again, nice imagery. It is not my place to ask you to revisit this but the repetition of the Druid God, I find distracting from the strength of the message. I can't help but feel that if you keep at this, from where you are now, there are nothing but better things to come.

I refer to "Druid God" a lot in my poetry, I know. But this is because most of my poetry is written to the same person, and this is how I refer to him. It's a personal thing for me. If I were to take him out, the poem would lose meaning to the poet.

wow, it's definitely emotional... i can feel the disappointment and want. It's well written to speak to the soul by relating, that is hard to do... good job!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
