    Poem Commentary

    What if we put our energies in saving the world, what a beautiful world this would be.

    If...
    If I could save one child from starving,
    what a legacy I have left.

    If I could save an elder from loneliness
    I am sure my presence is felt.

    If I could save a mental patient
    from thinking out his mind,

    then what a tremendous hand of God
    did He leave me to find.

    If I could save the children
    around the world in need,
    then, I have made a great impact
    and started a growing seed.

    If I could save a dying soul
    bent with pain and grief,
    then, I have done my best on earth,
    and leave this world with peace.
