    Invisible People

    Invisible People

    The side of the house
    on which she leaned
    was
    smooth
    and dark.
    She was dark.

    Almost melting in,
    like…
    chocolate in a
    hot pan.

    If you were not
    looking for her,
    you wouldn’t.

    Perhaps that is why
    she stood there,
    to be
    nothing,
    to be nonexistent,
    to lay the
    troubles of the
    troubled there
    in the dark.

    Looking; I saw her,
    she breathed.

Invisible people are definitely some of my favorites. Having seen a few in my time .. always a nice surprise to know they'd lived. The last one i saw was Sequoyah near his vintage cabin in the woods. Interesting write!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
