We said we'd stay together and let nothing break us apart
Now talks of splitting up, its rocky, where did it start
Did you not pay attention to the things I would mention
Or have I now fallen under some kind of suspicion
Did we turn out the lights and leave one another in the dark
Or become too busy and forgot to take time to talk
Maybe we just got caught up in this twisted game of life
Or was I too selfish to simply be your wife
Could I have been more caring or you more sharing
God was our matchmaker He did the pairing
They say he makes no mistakes but could he have been wrong
Cause now theres weakness in the bond that was so strong
When we were apart I yearned for you to be here
And now the very thought of separating leaves me in fear
I despised your ways because i didnt understand
Its hard on me but I cannot fathom the plight of a man
It wasnt our plan to fail but instead we failed to plan
We fell when we should've done all we could to stand
