    Love's Song

The notes of my song by design,
Are composed to pull at your heart,
The love you give me is too divine,
As is has been from the very start.

The rhythm is like a heart’s beat,
    Symbolizing mine within your hand.
    The melody seeming bitter sweet,
About our love that was not planned.

It is a song I have sung all my life,
Until you put the words to the tune.
Now it is the song I sing unto my wife,
    Underneath the sun, underneath moon.

You are the drug, for which I long,
And the inspiration of my every song

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
