Man Without a Heart

I've lived my life

All you may see is this old broken man
ambling along the street
To you I'm but a lonely soul
with no friennds to meet

No woman lingers on my arm
to warm me with a smile
and every weekend you might see
me reflect on this awhile

I've seen the light of life dim out
I have fought on foriegn shores
I'm haunted still by specters of
Lives lost in those two wars

I know loneliness quite well
both hell and heaven above
and spent my life devoted
to but just one love

So do not be so quick to judge
and tell me I'm too cold
to lived and lost so much in life
but yet retain a soul

I've lived my life

Amazing!!!!!! The way you built toward the finally gave me great expectations and it did not disappoint. The poems draws on so many emotions, and shows the importance of friends and family over the entire spand of life, as well as how memories really do last forever.Very good job.

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
