Trees Entwined

Two friends, two seeds and the summer breeze,
planted them together,
the friends vowed that as long as the trees grew,
they would never be far apart,
but time did pass and the trees grew,
so too did their friendship,
and they were so close, the wind passed their thoughts between them,
the trees now were fully matured,
and their branches intermingled,
so one could not define one from another,
if a branch fell from one,
it was caught by the other,
the two friends returned,
old with age and forever bound together,
to those they had planted long ago,
only to find one as they,
years passed and found the two,
asleep beneath the stone,
but the trees lived on,
ever embracing

Thank you, I wrote this for a girl I was dating for 2 years that was my best friend...unfortunately that is a past...Happy Holidays to you as well

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
