    Missing Home

All this driving has me thinking
    On this old familiar road
And as I roll the window down
To smell the air that brought me home

    Time has changed the landscape
All the trees and fields are gone
    The notalgia of my memories
It is all that's left of home

I had to leave for something
    A restlessness and lure
    Around the world and nothing
    could satisfy or cure

I've strived to be so special
    Advenurous and bold
    By gaining all these stories
    I've given up my home.

Your words touch the home spot of my soul. Home is always where your heart is, but we tend to wonder in search of it. Very nice write. I truly enjoyed it. Thank you

thank you very much....i haven't been on this site in over a year and a half...it's nice to return to a compliment. Happy Holidayz!

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
