    My most precious flowers 4-8-06

     My most precious flowers
    don't grow in my garden

    They grow wild in the world
    untended by my loving hands
    wild they grow

    Tall....strong....beautiful
    sharing the wonders of themselves
    with all who chance close enough to see

    My most precious flowers
    bloom beyond my sight

    And I have not the pleasure
    of their softly perfumed presence

    And so I water them with my tears
    roses without thorns

    My gift to the world
    I only pray that they be tended well
    my most precious flowers.
