  • today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday

One

It only takes one
One benevolent step to change everything
A singular flutter of the heart
A sight glance
That decision to... Or not to...
Firmly delivered No or gently uttered Yes.
One
The career that changed your life and the one you abandon for it.
The flight you took and the one you missed in a slit second.
That moment that is the ghost in your waking day and slumber nights.
That drink you didn't have
That pivotal night that never happened
One
You are the one! You are not the one for me...
Our free will drives us through many but we always arrive at the one. Whether of pleasure or pain one is still the destination.
Multitude surrounds us and from that is born our many ones.
The complexities of life cause us to believe in and lust for the many and miss the obviousness of the simplicity and purity of the One.
Life we only get one looking back and wishing you had two, is a waste of the ever so precious One.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
