    • Wow! Been a Long time since I've been online. Hope everyone's well!

    Out in the Woods

Out in the woods for a hike,
    Better than having a bike.

    Taking everything that we might,
    Need for a night.

    Little creatures scurrying,
    Always in life hurrying.

    Looking for birds and flowers,
Some say they have magical powers.

    Where would we all be,
If we didn't have this outlet that is free?

To be able to camp and commune,
With nature that may be gone all too soon.

Things taken, if not perishable and organic,
Should be disposed of properly so as not to cause a panic.

Nature has always been there for us,
So, why do they want to tear it up in a rush?

My soul would be lost and bereft,
If one day we wake up and nothing is left.

We are all a part of Nature itself,
Know the impact would be truly felt.

Your poetry is very close to my heart. Single mother of 3 boys I brought them to new country. Whent through boyscouting and soccer and all this stuff. And this poem sounds like it is from our boiscouts campout. Thank you. This should be written on the gates of their summer camp.

I really liked this even though the meter was broken and the rhyming a bit forced. I liked where you were going with it though. Thanks!

Very Beuatiful poem, My fav line is Where would we all be, If we didn't have this outlet that is free? So true. :)

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

    Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
