The Depression of Youth

The Depression of Youth

Life can be so unfair.

There are so many who do not care.

They ignore the misery of the innocent.

How can they be so ignorant?

Oblivious to the ones who suffer in silence,

To the ones who go through life without guidance.

It is said that ignorance is bliss.

But I cannot agree with this.

Ignorance is nothing but indifference,

Causing nothing but strife and sorrow,

Giving those in anguish a bleak tomorrow.

And if things go on like this,

There will definitely be consequence.

The greatest price for turning our heads,

Is that the ones unhappy and in pain end up dead.

Whoa...damn. Powerful. I've always had a soft spot on this subject, you gave "The depression of youth" a voice . You express this so fluidly...so well. You touched me today. :)

wow how powerful........ Ignorance effects me a lot as I live my life as a woman and who I really am.... some think this is where my happiness comes from, but it's not.... I just live to live and I'm just me to be me so I can find a lady that is happy with herself so we can share our happiness together..... def a 10 from me.... red

another poem with great ryme and powerful statements loved it most definitely awsome

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.

Franz Kafka (1883-1924) Czech writer.
