The Truth

The truth is, we were all angry when he left
No one could describe the pain that they felt
He was too young, they said, too young to die
He wasn't ready to give up his life
But he did, and there's nothing we can do about it
We have to live with what God decided
Sometimes we don't understand the choices God makes
But it all works out at the end of the day
You're never too young to die
It's sad but true
That's why Jesus gave his life
For me and you
No one knows when their time is up
None of us are promised tomorrow
But one thing we are sure of:
We are covered in God's love in and out of sorrow
We say it's unfair, but really, we're just selfish
For God protects the weak and weary
He takes hold of the helpless
On earth they suffer long and hard, little mercy for their pain
But in Heaven they feel nothing but joy
Their death is really their gain
True, it hurt to watch him go
But he's happy that he's reached the end of his road
As soon as his spirit passed away
He was reborn into something heavenly
He now lives in a new day
He now lives with no pain
And yes, it's true that he died young
It's true that he was taken away too soon
For us, at least, but as a matter of fact
He's gone to something better, and he isn't looking back
His memory is still alive, his life is well remembered
He only wish we'd believe in
Who he went to live with
Don't forget who he was, don't forget what he did
He was apart of us, he was just a kid
But do think of him as happy forevermore
Do think of him as hurting no more

Remembering him and thinking well of him does him honor, as does this wonderful poem.

thank you that means a lot.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
