    Poem Commentary

    Mani and Sol are from the Norse Mythology. Mani is the Norse god of the moon, chased by the wolf Hati who attempts to catch it and will one day attempt to devour it. Sol is the goddess of the sun, daughter of Mundilfaeri; she beras the sun across the sky in a golden chariot. She is chased by the wolf Skoll.

    The World and You

     You are as beautiful as the setting sun
         and as warm as the starry night breeze
    You are as pure as the rising sun
         and if Mani agrees then we have won

    You are as bright as the passing star
         and as brave as the raging rivers
    You are as graceful as the Northern lights
         and as sure of us as the staedy star

    You are as hopeful as the spring beginnings
         and as soft as the lustious river beds
    You are as deep as the calming ocean
         and as knowing as the sleeping valcanoes

    You are as loving as the mother bear
         and as soothing as the honey bee
    You are as protected as the winding forest
         and as concealing as the gaping road

    You are as sweet as the gentle stream
         and as colorful as the bittersweet rainbow
    You are mine as we face the world together
         and i will remain yours until Sol falls beneath the earth.
