    Through a Mother's eyes

Have you seen my little boy?  He's grown up so tall.
A few years have passed, since I held him, oh, so small.
It's been a hectic time and I didn't stop to see,
but was startled when I noticed what a handsome lad was he.
His hair has darkened from bright red, to a dashing auburn hue.
And he has his father's twinkle in those eyes of royal blue.
I quietly stepped into his room, my daily chores were done.
I vowed to catch the moments of that little man, my son.

My little boy will, too soon, become a grown man.
Until that time comes, let me hold him while I can.
Let me kiss away his aches and pains, and rock him off to sleep.
For I too, have growing pains, and memories to keep.

Lovely , lovely poetry, I enjoyed your writing, very much! mareann

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
