Poem Commentary

I just stated writing poetry four days ago so I am well aware that it isnt very good, please leave comments!

Worries

Theres a reason I dont wear my heart on my sleeve,
Because just when I think I have something goin on,
They leave,
Break promises,
And never come back,
It worries me,
Every time someone makes a promise,
Chances are they'll get broken,
Intentionally or not,
It seems they always do.
I shake with worry,
And quake with frustration,
At the thought that it'll happen all over again,
My heart will break into a million shards,
And I cant pick up the pieces without cutting myself.

Same feeling going on here. I don't wear my heart on my sleeve. I worry it will be broken again.

It's hard to believe you JUST starting writing poetry. This was beautiful, poignant and something to which I think we all can relate. Personally, I feel that if you don't give your whole heart, even at the risk of being hurt, you'll NEVER know the joy of true love and life! GOOD JOB!!

Yea, it hurts to take it off, or just leave it there

I swear, you just dont write like a 16 yr old. Its like you have experienced more than you should have. This is a good piece of work, nice to read, easy to feel. Keep up the good work!

I have believe me lol Thanks for commenting!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
