    As It Should Be

Take my hand, my love, and hold it tight.
Make a wish with all your might.
Close your loving eyes and think of me.
And by your side, I’ll always be.

Stroke my hair, touch my face with your fingertips,
Look lovingly in my eyes, then gently kiss my lips.
I promise this, for all you give to me,
I will return to you times three.

Hold my hand, my love, take a walk with me,
And all the wonders of this world we shall see.
Talk with me and share your dreams,
And we will dance each night under moon beams.

I want to live this love with you as each day were our last
Because if we put off sharing until tomorrow, time will fly past.
Come with me, my love, and see all the beauty life has to give,
Dance with me, hold me close, this is how I want to live.

Make love to me: body, soul, heart and mind.
Take me to those places only passionate love can find.
Touch me, slowly, gently, and make feel your heart beat,
This is how life and love should be, passionate and full of heat.

After all our daily journeys have been traveled and it is now night,
As we drift off into sleep, my love, I will turn and hold you tight.
You are my friend, my confidant, my sweetheart and my lover,
Snuggle in closer, closer, and touch me sweetly under the cover.

Good night my love, sleep tight and hold me close to you,
For tomorrow is yet another day to make our dreams come true.
We have promised one another to work toward keeping our love alive,
For this is our shared goal, one that we will hope will always thrive.

Had to admit, it was nice..

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
