    Stupid Girl

You can talk behind my back and say what you will,
But the light in my heart for what matters, you can't kill.
So talk others down just to make you feel tall,
One day, I will witness just how far you will fall.

You pit one against another to make it all very clear,
You never utter the real words and hide behind your mask.
But you hurt me for the last time, and now I do not fear,
The time will come in the end to face your last task.

For you will be judged by The One who created you,
And then all your false tears and sorrow will not turn the tide.
He is above all the acting and sees you in the truth,
For in life you can run, but in from Him you can never hide.

You will see your deeds of pain flash before you that one last time,
The hurt you inflicted on others will come back to you then.
And you will know the pain you caused with your words unkind,
Will you then be better than those you now condemn?

Yes, I was a stupid girl for I believed in many of you,
But given enough time, your true colors shine through.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
