    Poem Commentary

This poem was written for my daughter, Audrina, the night I brought her home from the hospital.  I love her more than anything else in the world.  I LOVE YOU, BABY GIRL!

    Baby's First Night Home

    Tonight as you lie sleeping
for the first time in your bed.
    there must be something lasting
and profound that should be said.

But as you face is gazed upon,
    framed by your dark hair,
no words can tell or quite express
    the feelings that we share.

    The wait is finally over.
You're home, at last, to stay.
And there will always be the memories
of joy that filled this day.

With a love that's running over
by the sight of you alone.
    Welcome home, sweet cherished child.
    At long last, welcome home.

from the moment she was born, the the sleepless nights you share. from a mother to her child its this precious time you share. although you may never sleep, although she may always cry. when the time comes you will look back and cry. not in unhappiness, nor pain or fear. but all in love and happiness knowing your little baby was here. she will complete you in ways no one else can. from the time she first walks, to making castles in the sand. that baby is prescious, more so then gold. and you will cherish all these memories when you get old. life is a gift, i am glad you could share...from the past poems of pain and saddness, i am glad you stayed...i am glad you were there.

The beginning of the most wonderfully frustrating experience of my life. It does get easier. Good write....
