She closes her eyes
and tries to sleep.
But into her mind
the memories creep.
Sher remembers the laughter;
she remembers the smile.
She remembers the face
she hasn't seen in a while.
She tries to forget
all the fun times they shared.
And she tries to forget
just how much she cares.
She tells herself
it's no big deal.
But she can't help but wonder,
Does she love him for real?

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
