Poem Commentary

I wrote this when I was in the seventh grade, so don't mind the crappyness of it.  But I always like to post it so that my Nanny knows how much I love her and miss her.

R.I.P Shirley Ann McGuire

Together Forever

Here we stand, all together-
together as a family.
One has left us, but we all know
she never wanted to go.

She woke up in the morning
thinking everything was fine.
Then they went to the hospital,
and there, she went to God.

He said it was her time-
she was one of His gifts.
We all have to share her,
even if we don't want to.

No one can imagine how hard it really is.
There are five who are hurting more than the rest:
Her four daughters and her husband-
they never expected this to happen.

Now here we stand as a family
knowing she is in a better place.
She will have no more pain,
no more problems.
She is with the best of the best.

We know that she is watching us
in everything we do.
We know that she is with us always
in our hearts
and in our minds.

this is true. and thee is no crappiness as you say lol. these words came straight from the heart back then and they are still felt the same way...you are just a little older now, and more unique in the way you write...you have jut expanded on your talent...please continue to share and express yourself...you, yourself are a gift from god...brought here to teach the world some good things.

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
